Microblading is also known as tattooing, permanent makeup, and permanent cosmetics. It is a non-surgical procedure that implants coloured pigments into the skin's dermis (middle layer) through microscopic injections with an extremely fine micro-blade. A "feathering technique," or feather stroke as the name suggests, involves cosmetic tattooing on tiny lines/strokes in a design that gives the appearance of real hair. The results that the artistic application of strokes can achieve are endless.
I will customize a style of eyebrow tattoo to your personal preference. I can create Hybrid natural brows or bold ombré brows. I create brows that fit your unique features and personality.
Results may vary, and eyebrows can last up to 2 years. Application time is approximately 3 to 4 hours. Touch-up applications vary from 1.5 – 2.5 hours.
WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?
Lip blush enhances your lips with a healthy youthful tint. Restore lost pigmentation with a natural-looking boost of color for everyday wear without the smudge or fade!
Lip blush provides long-lasting natural pigmented lips. This is not meant to replace wearing lipstick, instead, it leaves more of a lip stain effect that keeps you looking fresh on days when you just don’t want to wear makeup. We have different shades of pigments for different skin tones and preferences.
PREPARING FOR YOUR LIP BLUSH
Here’s how to get ready for your lip blush tattoo procedure:
Lips must not be dry for the procedure! Keep them fully moisturized with a lip ointment like Aquaphor or Vaseline starting from a week prior to the procedure.
Exfoliate the lips 1-2 days before the procedure using a soft toothbrush or DIY sugar/honey scrub.
Cold sore sufferers - see important note below
If you have a history of cold sores:
Ideally, you are advised to see your doctor for anti-viral medication which you should start 2-3 days prior to the procedure
If available, topical Zovirax can be applied preventatively during the first week of healing.
Otherwise, it is recommended to take L-lysine 1-2 weeks before and after the appointment to reduce the risk.
However, cold sores are a risk of lip blush treatment regardless of whether you have had them in the past. It is therefore recommended for ALL clients to take L-lysine, and if you experience an unusual tingly sensation in the lips or notice any bumps appear - see your doctor immediately as you may be experiencing an episode of cold sores. Prompt treatment is crucial in minimizing the extent of a cold sore outbreak.
No alcohol or caffeinated products 24 hours before treatment, and no aspirin or blood-thinning medications five days prior.
Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners).
Absolutely no injections of Novocaine, Botox or fillers should be administered to you ten days before treatment. Please inform me of any current injections.
If you use or have used Retin-A or any other medications, please advise.
Wash your hair that morning - because you can't get your healing tattoo wet you will need to avoid washing your hair too soon..
Permanent Eyeliner or Eye enhancement from the names themselves. Either it lines and/or enhances your lash line which gives your eyes a natural pop and added depth!
It can be built up to give you a permanent eyeliner or minimized just to enhance your lash line and highlight the shape of your eyes. This procedure takes approximately 3 hours and there is very minimal down time.
Lash Line Enhancement is a finer process of defining your lash line. It is thinner and it enhances the shape of your eyes.
After the appointment, any redness or irritation will subside in the next 2 hours.
The New Brows will look dark and intense during the first week of healing. It is important to remember that the first week of the NEW Brows is not the true result.
The typical healing time is about two weeks.
Things to avoid while healing:
Aftercare instructions:
All New Client Appointments are scheduled for four hours. In this time frame, I will provide the consultation, shaping, and tattooing in one appointment.
For the consultation portion, we carefully consider each client's eye shape, bone structure and personal preference.
Before proceeding to the tattoo portion of the appointment, we carefully measure and outline a shape that is the most flattering for the client's features.
We will suggest a shape best suited for the client, and once the client approves the shape, we will proceed to the tattooing process.
Our facility is a licensed business, and we meet all the requirements of Alberta Health Services.
As a certified permanent makeup artist, I maintain the highest standards regarding sanitization practices. I am knowledgeable about preventing the spread of blood-borne pathogens and diseases.
These are regular sanitization protocols I implement daily:
How touch-ups work:
We recommend a more conservative eyebrow shape and colour for your first appointment.
After your first Brow appointment, you'll be pre-booked for a two-month follow-up appointment.
The purpose of a follow-up appointment is to make any adjustments to the shape or colour based on the healed results. This follow-up appointment is optional.
Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the shape and colour of the tattooed eyebrows.
The life span of the eyebrow tattoo:
Hybrid Brows – typically last around one year.
Combo Brows – can last up to two years
The client's skin type, age and lifestyle play an important role in how quickly they fade.
Example: Oily skin with larger pores will typically last about one year, whereas dry skin with little to no pores will last up to two years.
It is advised to email service@geetabeautystudio.ca with clear pictures for approval first before booking your appointment online.
The tattoo must be very faded to work over or correct.
Working over other artists' work is often more than working on a blank canvas, so we DO NOT touch-up other artists' work for touch-up pricing. **Extra fees will apply if colour correction is needed.
If you think you may be allergic to our ink, please contact us through email and consider coming to our studio 2 hours before your appointment for a PATCH TEST.
It must be done 2 hours before your appointment.
The pain is comparable to threading, but numbing is used to help ease the pain.
If you are nervous about pain, please consider going to your pharmacy and purchasing Emla Topical Numbing Cream.
Apply to the eyebrow area generously, and do not rub into the skin. Proceed to wrap your eyebrows with a thin layer of saran wrap for 1 hour before your scheduled appointment. This method will ensure you feel completely numb when you start tattooing.
